For us, shopping is much more than keeping up with the latest trends or finding a new treasure to show to our loved ones. At Gulfside Hospice Thrift Shoppes, shopping makes a big difference. Our five thrift store locations have a collection of unique, boutique, and everyday items for a reasonable price. However, what is truly priceless, is what these locations give to our community and patients. By deciding to shop at one of our hospice thrift stores, the average shopper becomes an everyday hero.
In 2019, our thrift stores raised apprioxmately $248,000 for Gulfside Hospice care programs. This means that last year, we were able to provide not only the best care possible, but care to all indivduals who needed it. In fact, our thrift shoppes even helped one hospice patient receive care for approximately 745 days.
Now with 2020 underway, our team is setting new goals and hoping to raise more than we did last year. We believe that this will be possible by putting our customers' needs first, and making the shopping experience more enjoyable at all of our locations.
January marks a month of reflection. Before moving forward, our team believes it is important to reflect on our sales and progress from 2019. Listed below you can find some of the highlights from 2019.
Last year our leadership team decided to visit the thrift shoppe locations and create a plan that would answer and solve some of the concerns that were voiced by customers and the thrift shoppe team. This led to multiple stores remodeling, deep cleaning, and reorganizing across Pasco County.
The new changes allow for more room to display merchandise, easier use of the shopping carts due to wider aisles and improved paint and lighting to make the merchandise stand out more. Now, more merchandise is displayed on the walls freeing up floor space, and new fitting rooms are located near the clothing making it easier to pick our your favorite new outfit.
"Reveal-Renew-Refresh" was introduced and will be the motto for 2020 as the team continues to renovate and update the stores.
